Our Story

We’re Sam and Will McElligott, twin brothers from Weston, Connecticut. We love being outdoors and working with our hands in the garden, and what started as a backyard project when we were 12 years old has grown into Twin Chickens Giving Farm, where we grow fresh food and donate everything to local food pantries.

A few years ago, we visited our local food pantry. There were shelves full of donated items. Boxes, cans, dry goods. But we noticed something: there wasn’t much fresh food.

We know that if we were in that position, we’d want something fresh too. So we asked a simple question.

What if we grew it ourselves?

We’d spent a few years apprenticing at a local farm and learning to garden, so we knew where to start. That summer, we planted our first crops in the backyard and got our first chickens. Pretty soon, what began as a few crops and a few hens turned into something bigger. Not because we planned it that way, but because the need was real. Twin Chickens Giving Farm grew from that idea. Because we believe every small seed can make a big difference.
